Sigur Rós - “Ég Anda” | OTOH, Sigur Ros new album, Valtari comes out in May. This track… somewhere starting 2:20 and for about 2 min. Jonsi haunts ur soul with his voice with a slow build up that only leads the song to chaos. This break-less album is hauntingly beautiful. If this track is too hard to digest, try the album’s first single Ekki múkk. Which carries much of their trademark greatness. Its just sheer sonic beauty.

Jonsi - “Gathering Stories” | From the soundtrack of We Bought a Zoo. The rest of the soundtrack is, unfortunately, regurgitated Jonsi and Sigur Ros stuff. But i guess more Post-Rock for the pleabs is good thing. Then again, I do think one too many trailers is using Sigur Ros these days. I’m soon expecting Hoppipolla or Staralfur to be taking down Lux Aeterna as the go to trailer song one of these days.

Speaking of which, i’m not a fan of musical documentaries, but i do recommend Heima. Here’s an excerpt: Starakfur

Jonsi - “Animal Arithmetic” | #fb | I think this is the 2nd video from Jonsi’s solo album. It looks on one end as a video someone can shoot on a Canon 5D mkII. But on the other end, i luv the settle visuals of the drum kit. It rly shows that lasting vibration effect that Jonsi’s music and much of Sigur Ros seems to have. That sonic impact that lingers in ur mind. Its like the sonic version of “Persistence of vision”.
