Blood Red Shoes - “It’s Getting Boring By The Sea” | I 1st came across this song via Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. Last night i heard the song again as it opened the indie french film 17 Girls. The song’s apt title and lyrics summed up the movies theme of a group of girls finding empowerment, due to their boredom in a small coastal town in Brittany, France. Anyways, this is a cool power pop/britpop song, so enjoy it.
Craig Armstrong - “In Time soundtrack preview” | I cannot find the track i want to link so this preview will have to do. One of my fav parts of the movie In Time, besides Amanda Seyfried is the soundtrack. This must be my fav Armstrong soundtrack since Plunkett & Macleane.
College feat. Electric Youth - “A Real Hero” | If you havent seen Drive, u should. Its probably my vote for the best movie this summer. It is, however not mainstream. This song and the hot pink letters in the opening probably really support this statement by Ryan Gosling from a NYmag interview:
Drive seems somewhat commercial.
I wanted to make Pretty in Pink with a head-smashing.
The movie also has one of the best elevator scenes that goes from light dimming love to violence to the ending of an relationship, all in 2 min.
